Sandy Cay, White Bay & Great Harbor

Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017

Up just after the sun – coffee, sunscreen, a good book and the sun deck – today’s first stop was Sandy Cay.  We quickly motored over and tied off to a mooring ball just in time for breakfast.  Today, Dom treated us to our usual spread, plus some scrambled eggs and sausage.  After breakfast, the morning was once again ours, to do with as we liked.

Having just started another book, I absolutely couldn’t wait to bury my nose back in it, so I elected to stay on board, and catch some sun.  Marcus couldn’t pass up the opportunity to explore another uninhabited island in the BVI.  Sandy Cay is 13 ½ miles of protected National Park.  With a well-maintained trail, it’s easy to walk completely around the island.  Or so Marcus told me.

Once everyone was back on board it was off to White Bay on Beautiful Jost Van Dyke!  We had a few hours on White Bay to do with whatever we wanted.  Shot a quick text to one of my sisters to let her know we were swimming to shore and to pull up the Soggy Dollar LIVE webcam to look for us.  First round of pain killers purchased – – and we were the goofballs waving hi to people back home.  Walked along White Bay, snapped a few pictures and headed back to Soggy Dollar for some souvenir buying.  Another round of painkillers, borrowing of the SDB Wi-fi for iMessaging and FB posting and we were headed back to the boat far too soon.

Once we were back on board, it was time for lunch.  (Anyone else feel like all we did was eat?!)  Dom hit it out of the park with an amazing Sweet & Spicy Chicken, over fresh salad.  Post lunch we simply vegged out.  There was reading.  There was turtle watching.  There was floating and swimming.  Just as White Bay was beginning to get crowded, it was time to pull up anchor and head out…next stop – Great Harbor and Foxy’s.

Once we arrived at Great Harbor, Capt Rich prepped the dinghy and we all piled in and headed to shore.  Another afternoon of ice cream, more souvenir buying, drinking of various cocktails, meeting new people (bartenders) and meandering around.  Foxy’s was quiet this afternoon, so it was a bit boring, compared to previous visits.

Promptly picked up by our Captain, we were back on board our home with plenty of time to enjoy Captains Cocktails and afternoon snacks with time to shower and clean up before dinner.

Dinner tonight was Mahi over rice with Sauteed vegetables…and desert…I just don’t remember which desert.
